I have analysed the peals of Doubles rung during 1990 and published in The Ringing World. I found 199 peals; 56 in one method and 96 in two or more, including seven peals in from 60 to 160 methods by the Suffolk Guild. The remaining 47 contained variations and all conformed with Decision (D) C.3.
However, the reports of the 14 peals listed in figure 1 did not conform with Decision (D) C.4 as they did not state the numbers of methods and variations separately, although the peal at Great Durnford did list the names separately; the correction column shows how they should have been reported.

Furthermore, the report of the peal in 12m/ 50v at Skillington on 30 March (90/439) did not conform with Decision (D) C.4 as it did not list the methods rung in each extent separately.
Four of the peals in figure 1 and the seven peals listed in figure 2 claimed from 1 to 14 "variations" which use only standard calls for the parent methods and, in accordance with Decision (E) A.3, are not entitled to different names. It may be worth emphasising that the Old single (Plain Bob single) is a standard call for methods with Plain Bob above the treble and that the Newark single (Wallflower single) is a standard call for methods with Reverse Canterbury Pleasure Place above the treble.

If any band is unsure how the numbers were arrived at for their peal, I will be pleased to provide details on receipt of a stamped addressed envelope.
I also noticed the following minor discrepancies in peal reports. The report of the peal in 16 methods at Huntingfield on 5 January (90/156) did not state the methods rung in extents (30-33) and listed only 14 methods.
The report of the peal in 7m/8v at Canterbury on 4 August (90/912) did not state the method rung in extent (13), although I understand that this was St. Martin's Bob.
The report of the peal at Lubenham on 24 November (91/12) claimed 10 methods but listed 8 methods.
The report of the peal at Cratfield on 19 December (91/89) claimed 7 methods but listed 10 methods.
