A meeting of the Alton District was held at Privett on Saturday, September 21st, the numbers present being disappointing, as only 14 turned up from the following towers: Blackmoor, Binsted, North Stoneham, Portsmouth Cathedral and Winchester. However, several of the six-bell ringers present were very well satisfied, as it enabled them to get plenty of eight-bell practice in Grandsire, one old gentleman of 71 ringing the tenor behind to every touch during the afternoon and evening, to his great delight.
The next meeting will be held at Selborne and Newton Vallance on November 23rd due notice of which will appear in ‘The Ringing World.’
