A by-meeting of the Alton and Petersfield District was held at Froyle on Saturday, August 25th, when members were present from Alton, Blackmoor, Bishopstoke, Froyle, Fareham, North Stoneham, Portsea, Petersfield, Steep, Soberton, Wickham and visitors from Ash, Farnham and Godalming, 32 in all. The bells were rung from 2.30 until 4.30, when the Guild's office was held in the church, conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. C. H. Sangster.
The members were kindly entertained to tea by Sir Hubert Miller at the Shrubbery House, after which a short business meeting was held. This over, Sir Hubert personally showed the party round his beautiful grounds, which were greatly enjoyed and admired.
Ringing was resumed afterwards, the methods ranging from Bob Doubles to Cambridge Surprise Minor.
