The resignation was received of the District Ringing' Master (Mr. T. R. Taylor) at the quarterly meeting of the Portsmouth District at Catherington on July 20th. Members heard with regret that this was due to his wife's health being a cause of anxiety. Mr. W. Cope was unanimously elected his successor. Mr. P. Stevens, Chichester, was elected a compounding member.
A vote of thanks was accorded the Vicar (the Rev. R. W. Kilvert). for his welcome and conducting the service, and the ladies for the very fine tea.
Next quarterly meeting: St. Mary's. Alverstoke, October 5th.
