Ten bands took part and Canon K. W. H. Felstead, the Master of the Guild, presided. The judge, Mr. C. H. Kippin, in summing up the contest, said he noticed an improvement in the ringing, particularly in the leads, giving a higher standard of ringing than in past years and a very close result.

The winning team, Fareham, rang Grandsire Triples, which the judge declared was good ringing from beginning to end. Ringwood, last year’s winners, were second, ringing Stedman Triples.
