EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Another busy and, I hope, fruitful year, with 129 students partaking in 8 main courses and 5 theoretical sessions.

A special thank you to all those who gave their time as tutors, team leaders and helpers, no course could be run without your kind assistance.

Also a big thank you to tower captains, tower correspondents and incumbents who arranged and allowed us to use their bells.

This year we were privileged to have Steve Coleman as a guest tutor at Longparish where his relaxed technique helped many students to gain an insight into “Raising and Lowering” and gain an understanding of Ropesight.

2000 saw courses run on Call Changes, Plain Hunt, Plain Bob Doubles and Minor, Grandsire Doubles, Stedman Doubles, “Raising and Lowering” and “Listening and Striking”. The practical sessions also included a variety of theoretical groups including Listening ~ Ropesite ~ Using the Simulator.

The evening session in Holy Week saw 21 students attempting Rope Splicing or involved in a lecture on “Saying Stop and Go for the Terrified”.

Apologies to those students who could not make the revised dates for the March Course. Please join us in 2001.

2001 will be another busy year ... can you gives us a helping hand?
