Bob Cater initiated the mid-monthly meetings in March 2000, when lots of people crowded into the new ringing room of St Andrew’s, Hurstbourne Priors. Lunch at “The Plough” in Sparsholt was popular and ringing at two more towers in the afternoon provided a pattern for subsequent meetings which continued until October.
Lots of Rounds, Plain Hunting and methods up to Yorkshire Surprise Major were practised and it was gratifying that so many local ringers were able to join in. Ringers have also enjoyed the chance to see instances of great craftsmanship, commemorating the Millennium, in many of the churches visited. The MMMs start up again in March 2001.
