The main social event of the year was the dinner, which took place on Saturday 6th April 2002 at Winchester Cathedral Refectory. Numbers were slightly down again this year, with only 64 attending. The Guild Master introduced the speakers: Chris Pickford, Master of the Ancient Society of College Youths was the main speaker and Christine Hill from Hursley replied on behalf of our Guild. The food was excellent and although the number attending was again slightly disappointing, it was a very enjoyable evening.
The Mid Monthly Meetings have taken place on the middle Wednesday of each month from March to October. They run from late morning through lunchtime and afternoon and visit each of the UK Districts at least once a year. David Forder has arranged these events very successfully.
Carrie Eisenhauer has continued to supervise a group of between 12 and 15 ringers who meet 3 times a year to help in the Winchester Cathedral refectory on a voluntary basis. It is hard work but a most enjoyable day. 3 ringers always play some handbells which is very much appreciated by the visitors and staff.
