REVIEW OF BELFRY RESTORATION ACTIVITY

Works completed during 2006:

Alton, All Saints (6, 6-0-4 in B) - The three old bells were removed along with the frame and fittings, the bells being re-housed. A new ring of six complete with new frame and fittings was completed in October. (Matthew Higby & Co Ltd.)

St. Peter Port, Guernsey, St. Peter Apostle and Martyr (8, 21-1-12 in E flat) - The Jean Baptise Brocard (1736) clock bell which hung outside the spire was taken down in September 2004, its supporting cot having developed a remarkable list to the West during the previous year. This problem has now been rectified and the work was completed in 2006.
