COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

At the Executive Committee meeting in November it was agreed to divide the functions of the then Public Relations Committee and to appoint a Public Relations Officer operating separately, hence the change in name. This committee will remain responsible for the Guild Newsletter, web site and mailing list.

Colin Cook resigned following the AGM due to pressure of other commitments. We would like to acknowledge Colin’s contribution, especially with regard to the Winchester Cathedral Schools Days and the web site.

Rosemary Oakeshott was elected at the AGM and has since spent many hours on preparation for a re-launch of the web site. This has “growed like Topsy” over the years without any great consistency in page style. This we are planning to rectify. There is, however, much work involved.

Two Newsletters were published during the year. These seem to meet with general approval, but any suggestions for improvement or addition would be welcomed by the editor who is most grateful to those contributors to the content without which the venture could not succeed.

The email list has 148 subscribers; typically there are around 25 posts per month although the thomy subject of CRB checks boosted December to a record 38!
