COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Most of the committee’s efforts this past year have been devoted to the re-design of the Guild web site. Having agreed the principles, tasks were shared totally inequitably with Rosemary Oakeshott doing the lion’s share of the work. All pages now have a common style and much of the content is database driven, hopefully making site update easier. A facility to allow Guild and District Officers to post news items has also been implemented although we are slightly disappointed at the take-up rate.

Individual email addresses are no longer displayed thus cannot be “harvested” by spammers. If there are those who, hitherto, have been reluctant to allow their email addresses to be made available because of this fear, perhaps they might reconsider.

Two Newsletters were published during the year. As ever the success or otherwise of the Newsletter depends upon the contributions submitted by members. For these the editor is grateful, please keep them coming!

The email list now has 169 subscribers.
