The Education Committee ran two courses during the year, covering Grandsire and ringing on higher numbers. 22 students took part in these courses, making very good progress during the days. We intend to be back up to the full programme of 4 practical courses and a pre-Easter evening theory course during 2008.
Mike Winterbourne stood down as convener of the Education Committee in the middle of the year after 10 years. His tireless efforts over those years have resulted in a well-established model for courses, making the task for those who follow much easier. Our thanks are due to Mike for all his work. Ruth Cooper has also been forced to stand down from the Committee due to ill health. Many thanks to Ruth for coordinating student applications over the past few years, and for her ceaseless enthusiasm.
Courses can never be run without the many helpers who turn up to assist. Without their unstinting support the courses are not possible. A big thank you from the Education Committee to all those who have assisted during the year.
The Committee wishes to thank all the towers and incumbents for the use of their bells, particularly those who manage to sort out the use of their bells at short notice.
