West Tytherley, St Peter. A Conservation scheme to rehang the ring of three bells: Treble circa 1260? Founder unknown, 2nd 15th century, founder unknown, Tenor William Tozier 1725. To retain the wooden bellframe and strengthen with steel angle bracing. To refurbish existing running gear etc. and fit iron bearing plates to the frame heads, rehang the bells on all new gudgeons and ball bearings. To fit a set of rope guides in ringing chamber. Some sub-contract work was necessary, to provide three counter balanced clappers (Conservation Bellhangers Ltd - Sub-Contractors: Whitechapel Bell Foundry Ltd & Matthew Higby & Co Ltd.)
Buriton, St Mary the Virgin. To re-bush existing clapper assemblies and provide new pulleys. Also to clean out bearings and prime with new grease. (Whites of Appleton Ltd.)
New Alresford, St John the Baptist. To replace the gudgeons on the 5th, 4th, 3rd and Treble bell. Inspect and clean bearings on all bells and to supply and fit all new bell retaining nuts bolts etc. To replace bearings if necessary and to turn bells to present an unworn surface to the blows of the clapper. Ringwood, St Peter and St Paul. To re-bush clappers of 5th 6th and 7th and to provide a new staple for 5th. Provide new double pulleys for 2nd 3rd and 4th and a drawing pulley at intermediate floor level for Treble. Provide new stay bolts. (Whitechapel Bell Foundry Ltd.)
Alderney, St Anne. A proposal to Augment the existing ring of six by the addition of six new bells to form a ring of twelve, all to be hung in a new steel frame. Four of the existing six require retuning to remove the tuning “stretch”. The new bells to be cast by Taylors. It is proposed that a redundant 15th century bell by R Churche (ex Ipswich) will be hung along side the new bells for stationary chiming. Subject to Faculty. (Matthew Higby & Co Ltd.)
Heckfield, St Michael. To rehang the front three bells with new fittings, removal of crown staples, canons to be retained. Provide new forge tops to existing clappers and repair and adapt existing wheels to fit new headstocks. Turn front three bells. Provide new cast iron rope bosses. (John Taylor & Co.)
Hinton Admiral, St Michael and All Angels. To rehang the bells on new fittings, existing wheels to be re-rimmed and adapted to fit new headstocks. Supply new sheaves to existing hardwood pulley boxes. Provide new stays, sliders, runner boards, rope bosses and a set of ropes. (Whites of Appleton Ltd.)
Minstead, All Saints. To augment the existing ring of five bells with a new treble to form a ring of six. Provide a new rider frame to house existing treble and supply all necessary fittings. (John Taylor & Co.)
Portsmouth St Agatha’s RC. A project to install a new ring of eight bells with a tenor of approximately 3cwt in F using the very latest in small-bell fitting designs. The ring will incorporate five used bells (some located by the Keltek Trust) and three new to be cast by Higby and Bowditch. A new steel frame will be installed and the existing bell rehung for electronic chiming. New access ladders are also to be fitted. (Matthew Higby & Co Ltd.)
