COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

I’m delighted to be able to say the Communications Committee has had several successes since this time last year.

I’d first like to extend my sincerest thanks to Andrew Glover and Peter Sheppard for working so diligently on producing a successful, practical and attractive new website. The website went live in November and is well worth a look: wpbells.org Further developments and improvements are anticipated in the future.

I’ve also been receiving lots of positive feedback regarding the new look and the content of the Guild Newsletter. An email requesting articles for the April edition has been sent out and I encourage all present at the meeting to promote the search for content in their home towers/districts.

In the last month, Mailchimp has announced it is reducing the number of addresses it can support for free (our own data will exceed this new limit). Thankfully, the Communications Committee has been promoting other forms of two-way communication (Google Groups and Facebook) over the last year and the Mailchimp account has become somewhat defunct anyway. The Winchester District has expressed interest in continuing to use it for one-way communication and so all other Guild members have been removed and the account now exclusively belongs to Winchester.

The Communications Committee could still do with a few more members to help present new ideas. Please do consider joining or encouraging those in your tower/district volunteer: comms@wpbells.org
