The Guild Dinner was held in the Winchester Cathedral Refectory with 71 members and guests sitting down to an excellent dinner. There was no top table, as the room would not allow it, but to the delight of some members we had the return of the OLD days with formal speeches. This is not to say that in the last few years there were no speeches.
The Guild Master acted as Master of Ceremonies for the evening, and welcomed everybody. After the meal the Guild Secretary proposed the Loyal Toast, and Mark Esbester proposed a toast to the visitors.
Replying on behalf of the visitors, and proposed a toast to the Guild, Steve Coleman gave an entertaining speech, with a few quotes from past Guild reports.
Mike Winterbourne responded on behalf of the Guild. He thanked Steve for his kind words and complimented him on his books.
